9-0 after Portland, now the Red Hawks must fly higher than ever

Creek Wood dispatched Portland on Friday night 28-14.

Certainly from that score, or if you were there you can see there is still things this team has to work on but now they are out of time.

This Friday night the Red Hawks will face not only there toughest test yet, but be playing for more than an undefeated record and pride.

Creek Wood travels to Springfield and it is all on the line. Winner take home the #1 seed and a region championship, loser another runner up slot and the #2 seed.

Winning on Friday night will be no small task though as for the first time Creek Wood will play a team with near equal or superior strength, speed, talent, and more.

Springfield boasts an all state DB and OL according to Murphy Fair magazine and they are obviously coming off of a state title appearance where they lost to state powerhouse Elizabethton.

Almost every position group for the Jackets has all region players, much like the Red Hawks this season, so this should be a true battle royale.

Also very much like Creek Wood the Jackets have depended on their offensive prowess this season scoring 20 plus points in all but 1 game on the year.

That is not to say their defense is not stout, shutting out 2 opponents and allowing more than 20 points only twice on the year, but they have vulnerabilities.

It will be a battle of wills on Friday night in this rivalry game for the region title. Who will come out on top? Tune in on WDKN and find out.
