DICKSON, TN- The Dickson County Lady Cougars completed a wild comeback after being down 23-11 at half and even getting down as far as 30-15 to defeat Franklin 43-36. Three Lady Cougars scored in double digits with KK Curtis leading the way with 12 points and Raegan Purvine and Olivia Rinehart scoring 11 apiece.

“I’ve never had a group of girls that fight for each other like they do,” Dickson coach Erin Webb said. “I saw it against Spring Hill when all of those girls wanted Ryann (Roberts) to get her tenth three-pointer.

“All I had to do was look at them and say ‘are you really going to let these seniors go out like this?’ and you saw how they reacted.”

Dickson County was able to force some timely turnovers and get the lid off the basket to help fuel a 20-point fourth quarter that finished off Franklin.

Raegan Purvine and Ryann Roberts were the two seniors recognized for senior night.

DJ Stacy led Dickson County with 25 points and while he did hit some big-time shots, the defense of Jaden Davis and Jett Carter on Franklin star Reese Glover helped keep him in check to win 69-56. Glover did finish with 24 points, but he scored 16 of those in the first quarter. After seeing him singlehandedly keep Franklin in the game with offense, Davis and Carter split time guarding after that and held him to only 8 points for the remaining three quarters.

“Throughout the game we made a couple of small adjustments” said Tigert, “just a really good team effort last night.”

Dickson County owned a 4-point lead at half but a 20-8 third quarter helped the Cougars jump out in front and really finish with a strong showing. Jaden Davis added a thunderous dunk while Cade Purvine showed off some flashy ball-handling to get the crowd going and finish off a strong Franklin team.

Darian Burns and Kody Pardue were the two seniors on the boys team recognized for senior night.

Dickson will travel to Summit for their regular season finale next Tuesday, February 12.
