Homers, Pitching Lift CW to Win Over CAK

The Creek Wood Lady Red Hawks came in with no fear against defending Class AA State Champion CAK on Wednesday night. The late start, wet field, and intermittent drizzle didn’t stop Creek Wood, as they led 6-0 at one point and never faultered. Bailey Griffith threw another gem and hit another home run, while Kensli Douthit clubbed another as well and Analeigh Coursey went 3-for-4 in a 7-2 beatdown of the Lady Warriors.

CAK will fall into a 10am elimination game Thursday in the loser’s bracket, while Creek Wood stays in the winners’ bracket while tallying the 6th State Softball Tournament win in school history. The Lady Red Hawks will face McNairy Central Thursday evening at 5:30, with the winner moving on to the championship game on Friday, and the loser needing to win 3 in a row to take home a title.
