By tomorrow evening Creek Wood’s Lady Red Hawks will have gone a full week without playing a game.
While for most teams this year that wouldn’t be unusual in the slightest, it is for a Creek Wood team that has played seven games and the only time they were over a week apart was for thanksgiving break.
That being said in those seven games the Lady Red Hawks have looked dialed in and ready to repeat, going 5-2, their only losses too Gibson County and Summit.
They have in their 5 wins scored 50+ each time and held their opponents under 40 in all but 1 contest, Cheatham County.
They will bring a 3 game win streak with them into their game Friday evening.
That win streak includes an impressive 58-34 victory over, what was at the time an undefeated, Hickman County team last Friday.
The most impressive thing about this years team so far has been their defensive intensity. In each and every game the Lady Red Hawks have pressed and pressured their opponent to death, which is what has led to their large margins of victory.
Going forward, I have to be honest, I believe that until region play and beyond, the only team that stands between Creek Wood and another district title is themselves.
As I have said up next for the Lady Red Hawks is a battle on the road with Harpeth Friday night at 6 pm.
You can hear that game on 101.5 the one with Colin Castleberry.
