Red Hawks grounded permanently in Sub-State Game

The Firebirds of Pearl-Cohn were just too much for Creek Wood for a second straight year.

The Red Hawks fall 65-50 despite a valiant effort from RFC Sports player of the game Cole Adams who hit 5 3’s from all the over the court throughout the night to try and keep his team in it.

Creek Wood was overwhelmed by the athleticism at times of the Firebirds and their transition offense.

Turnovers and poor shot making also plagued the Red Hawks.

Creek Wood ends the year the same way they did last year with a region championship loss to Community and then a sub-state loss to Pearl-Cohn.

However, there is still a lot to be proud of if you are Creek Wood and Coach Charles Taylor.

In a year where nothing was promised and everything could change in an instant, Creek Wood weathered the storm to play 32 games and win 26 of them.

They went 14-0 in the district in the regular season, won the district tournament and before losing to Community had not lost a game since January 7th, that is over a month and a half of winning.

This season, unfortunately, will be remembered for the way it ended. It should be remembered, however, for the way it was played.
