The Creek Wood Red Hawks took care of business against rival Camden on Wednesday night in a game that was originally slated for Monday night in Charlotte. While the Red Hawks got the win 9-5, the game was in hand most of the night.
Creek Wood staked starter Zeke Lecomte to a 4-0 lead early, but the Lions were able to cut the lead in half at 4-2 before a Red Hawk recovery made it 6-2. Things got hairy in the seventh, but Chase Haley put out the fire, and the final out was an interference call as a runner tried to score from third on a foul ball, cutting off the third baseman who was trying to catch that final out.
Jon Lynn and Allen Miller took care of business offensively for the Red Hawks, who were playing as the decision was made to close Dickson County schools on Thursday due to the threat of inclement weather. Dickson County High School also made the decision to postpone all after-school activities for Thursday night as well.
